A college in Texas was on lockdown earlier this afternoon because of a shooting in the campus library. Lone Star College, located outside of Houston, gave notice to all faculty and students that there were reports of a shooter and warned them to take shelter or stay away from the campus. According to an officer, three people were shot and one was detained on suspect. Police believe that there is another shooter who is currently on the run and they are searching in the heavily wooded area north of camps. Since the incident is ongoing, officials are only allowed to give details on condition of anonymity.

A Lone Star student who was witness to the scene claims that one man was having an argument with the other, then pulled out a gun from his clothing and shot at him. He then began shooting at another man. One student said that he was in a classroom when he heard eight shots, after which he and the other students abandoned the building. Another young lady said that she and other students went into hiding after they heard the gun shots. According to CBS news, four nearby schools also went on lockdown in the Aldine Independent District after they heard reports.

This shooting brings up memories of the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school in Connecticut, in which 20 students and 6 staff members were shot.
